The Church Before Christianity

A companion to Albert Nolan’s best-selling Jesus Before Christianity, which offers a classic portrait of Jesus from Scripture, Wes Howard-Brook provides a compelling picture of the earliest followers of Jesus, whose idea of church was not simply a Sunday-morning battery charge but the basis for a complete society grounded in the presence of the Risen Christ.
