The story centers on Gina, a strong-willed fifteen-year-old girl who is abruptly sent by her father to the austere and highly disciplined boarding school in rkod. Separated from her family and familiar surroundings, Gina is thrust into a strict environment governed by rigid rules and enigmatic traditions. At first, Gina resists the oppressive atmosphere and the mysterious authority of the school, but as the narrative unfolds, she gradually gains insight into the hidden layers of the boarding schools community. Through courage, intelligence, and unexpected alliances, she learns to confront moral dilemmas and navigate the complexities of loyalty, friendship, and sacrifice. The novel is not only a gripping coming-of-age tale but also a profound exploration of the challenges faced by individuals during wartime, when personal values and social pressures often collide. The symbolic figure of Abigla statue within the school groundsrepresents hope, protection, and the possibility of help in times of crisis, adding a subtle layer of magical realism to the story.”Abigl” remains a timeless classic in Hungarian literature, celebrated for its compelling characters, evocative atmosphere, and its sensitive portrayal of adolescence under extraordinary circumstances.Hungarian Translation – Overview (Attekintes)Az Abigl Szab Magda egyik legkedveltebb regnye, amely az 1943-as v trtnsei kztt, a msodik vilghbor idejn jtszdik Magyarorszgon.
