Jesus People: What the Church Should Do Next

Since 2004 and the publication of “Mission-shaped Church”, new forms of church have flourished across the UK, as Christians seek to be relevant to people in the 21st century. But is it enough to be ‘mission-shaped’? “Jesus’ People” is a prophetic call for the church to return to what really matters – to being followers of Christ, first and foremost. Writing with deep love and respect for the church he has served as leader of Fresh Expressions, Steven Croft urges Christians to let go of the negativity, blame and sense of failure that pervades the church today. Instead he encourages us to take on the character of Jesus Christ, and in doing so, be transformed forever. This book offers a vision for the church from a man at the forefront of mission in the Church of England. ‘Back to basics’ call will be of interest to church leaders regardless of denomination and tradition. The book is supported by web-based discussion guide.Steven Croft
