Psalm 91

One who dwells in theshelter of the Most High
Will lodge in theshadow of the Almighty.
2I will say to theLord, Myrefuge and myfortress,
My God, in whom Itrust!
3For it is He who rescues you from thenet of the trapper
And from the deadlyplague.
4He willcover you with His pinions,
Andunder His wings you may take refuge;
Hisfaithfulness is ashield and wall.

5Youwill not be afraid of theterror by night,
Or of thearrow that flies by day;
6Of theplague thatstalks in darkness,
Or of thedestruction that devastates at noon.
7A thousand may fall at your side
And ten thousand at your right hand,
Butit shall not approach you.
8You will only look on with your eyes
Andsee the retaliationagainstthe wicked.
9For you have made theLord,my refuge,
The Most High,your dwelling place.
10No evil will happen to you,
Nor will any plague come near yourtent.

11For He will giveHis angels orders concerning you,
To protect you in all your ways.
12On their hands they willlift you up,
So that you do not strike your foot against a stone.
13You willwalk upon the lion and cobra,
You will trample the young lion and theserpent.

14Because he has loved Me, I will save him;
I willset himsecurelyon high, because he hasknown My name.
15He willcall upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him introuble;
I will rescue him andhonor him.
16I will satisfy him withalong life,
Andshow him My salvation.
