Saint Dominic

Dominic, who lived around the year 1200, was a Spanish priest with a deep understanding of the arts and theology. While traveling, Dominic encountered a group of French heretics, and realized that evangelizing them required a new strategy. He established the Order of Preachers, often called Dominicans, who focus on contemplation (pondering the mysteries of our redemption) and sharing the fruits of their prayer through preaching.Feast Day: August 8Patronage: Astronomers, Chorister, Dominican Order, Dominican Republic, Falsely Accused, Juvenile Delinquents
