Saint Leo the Great

As a fifth-century pope, St. Leo the Great was confronted with division in the Church and even the looming threat of Attila the Hun! Rooted in faith, Leo faced those challenges head-on with passion and pastoral care. He challenged division and heresy with a balance of openness and conviction; he persuaded Attila the Hun to turn back at the gates of Rome; and he emphasized an unchanging truth that should echo in our hearts even today: We are all one in Christ.Feast Day: November 10Patronage: Peacemakers
