Scripture Basics: A Catechist’s Guide (Essential Catechist’s Bookshelf)

It can happen to any catechist…One of your students asks you a question about the Garden of Eden…a parent comes up to you to ask about something you told her daughter s class about the Bible…

Are you ready for questions like these? Can you speak confidently in age-appropriate ways about how the church approaches and interprets the Bible?

You will, with the help of this clear, insightful, and practical guide. Writing from her own experience as a catechist, Margaret Ralph helps you understand the Catholic approach to Scripture, the difference between the Lectionary and Bible and why we need to know both, why context is so important to understanding a biblical passage, how to spot literary forms in the Bible, how to teach Scripture in age-appropriate ways, and much more. Scripture Basics will help you strengthen your own prayerful connection to Scripture so that you can better help others catch the fire of God s word.Margaret Nutting Ralph;, Margaret Nutting Ralph
